To help minimize perinatal pain, prophylactic exercise and education can make a huge impact.

Postpartum:
- Understand that the body will always be postpartum –> a new baseline will develop; some bodies look and feel just like before, while others look and feel very different
- Learn how to best rehabilitate body to function as desired without symptoms
- Gradually return to physical activity and exercise
- Learn about energy conservation
- Mindfulness exercises to help manage stress and rejuvenate mind and body
